St. Louis Students Recognised for Life Saving Act

Students Ciara Murray and Emer McNally from St Louis Monaghan recently came to the aid of a stricken staff member in the school by rendering CPR to the person before they were taken to hospital. Their action was lauded as a life-saving act by Brigid Sinnott, Basic Life Support Co-ordinator with the Irish Heart Foundation  “My shoes, my footprints, my journey” was the theme of the students Thanksgiving Mass which was described as “absolutely gorgeous” by Ms. Sinnott who had travelled from Wexford to attend.
Ms Sinnott said that the Heart Foundation planned to roll out CPR training to second-level schools in September and appealed for schools to take this on board and make it part of their curriculum.
