The Salerno School Community was delighted to welcome Sr Monica, General Superior of RJM and Sr Carmen, member of General Team, to the school on 10th November.  Accompanied by Sr Mary Mulrooney, the Provincial of the Religious of Jesus and Mary in Ireland, this was part of the Sisters’ General Visitation where they visit each JM school in the world during their six year term.

Staff and pupils were struck by the radiant presence of the two sisters. There was a sincere and genuinely spiritual aura which followed them. Sr Monica addressed the staff with expressions of gratitude for being the face of St Claudine to the pupils of the school.  She spoke of the emphasis we have on the pastoral care of the students and the feelings of unity and kindness in the school.  The Sisters were entertained by the students with song, dance and recital. Sr Monica spoke to the girls and captivated them with her story of ‘The wise man and the butterfly’.

All were struck by the Sisters’ gentle spirits, their warm smiles, their faith and their humility.
