Friday 27th March was Pay it Forward Day in Beneavin De La Salle College Finglas. The idea of Pay it Forward is underpinned by the belief that people are genuinely giving by nature, but many get caught up in the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Pay it Forward Day is a time when each of us can get to experience the ‘Power of Giving’ and a massive, positive ripple effect continues as Pay it Forward goes around with each good deed that is completed.
‘Pay it Forward Day’ is a time when we all can remind ourselves of the power of giving and in the process we make this world that little bit brighter.
As Lasallians we remember to live Jesus in our Hearts. It is about the little things that can make a big difference. It’s a friendly smile, a chat, a cup of tea when someone feels down, or simply looking up from your phones, getting off your facebook and being truly present for the moment. Most importantly it is about selflessness. Giving up of our time for others and not expecting anything back in return is a wondrous thing especially as we look forward to Easter. Of course every day should be Pay it Forward Day: Just imagine if you make one person happy each day, in forty years you have made 14,600 human beings happy for a little time at least. You get what you give so give good, and pay it forward every day.
