Middle Leaders 2018/19 Course

The Education Offices of the four Trusts are collaborating to run a middle leadership course again in 2018-2019 for teachers interested in developing their leadership capacity.

It is open to all teachers; post holders and non-post holders with a minimum 2 years full-time teaching experience in the same school. A maximum 3 teachers from each school will be accepted on the course.

Course Aims & Content

The aims of the course are:

  • To develop teacher leadership in our schools
  • To offer the opportunity for participation in learning networks
  • To encourage continuing professional development

The course content will include the following;-

  1. Leadership in faith schools; exploration of values, ethos and ethical leadership
  2. Managing self and others; emotional and social intelligence, stress management and management of conflict and difficult situations
  3. Leading curriculum and assessment; working from a values base.
  4. Reflective practice and journaling; developing skills and practice of reflection and engaging in a small-scale school-based project
